Well, other than Mal not being familiar with King Solomon - which is hard to believe when Mal was a pretty pious fella before the Unification War from the flashback scenes during the series - I thought this one-shot was all kinds of perfect, toxic_corn!
I especially loved how we have a realistic Simon based on both canon character behaviour and feasible growth patterns where he's all "I will travel to Hell for you, River, but you have to learn to take a lump on the chin every so often" in his conversation with River in the infirmary. Plus it shows Simon trusts Mal not to pull some fei hua punishment outta his metaphorical behind, or dismiss the issue as mere childish bickering. That and how Jayne's hair-styling skills are revealed, though they make sense since he's an apparent dab hand with bladed weapons.
