It's way different when you're little, esp. below the ages of the girls in the books. I thought that was the way 11 yr. olds and 13 yr. olds behaved, so I loved the books back then. Around the time I turned 13, I realized that my life wasn't like the BSC girls and I slowly lost interest. I don't have any of my books anymore, but I flipped through one recently at a used bookstore. The font was so large, lol! I think as far as the story goes, it depends of your taste. If you can get into 13 yr. olds babysitting, then I suppose it's entertaining. Personally, I don't like first person perspective stories that much anymore, which is what the books are written in, so I'd rate it as slightly below the American Girl series. As a history geek, I like those books better in retrospect. :)
