I got to have dinner with the lovely Hitch tonight (who I haven't seen in over a YEAR sadface!). We went to a local Chinese buffet and talked all about the upcoming wedding and where our lives have gone since we last saw each other. Sigh. I hate being a grown up; I want all my friends in close walking distance like in the dorms!

Futile wishes out of the way, here's the meme catch-up!

Day 14 - Favorite male character

Malcolm Reynolds from Firefly. He's badass, he's smart, he's hot, and he wears an ensemble of tight pants and suspenders! What's not to love, honestly? I guess you could argue that his remarks about Inara being a whore are annoying but uh, she has sex for money, guys. By definition, that's what a whore is. And he's only frustrated because he knows she's BETTER than that. Even being a fan of him and knowing where he's coming from, I still want to smack him upside the head when he starts calling her a whore. "Uh, doofus? You know how you're all in love with her and shit? Well, saying this stuff ISN'T ENDEARING YOURSELF TO HER. Protip: Don't call your potential love interest a whore when she's really a culturally acceptable geisha companion. So stop it." *whacks him with rolled up newspaper*

Day 15 - Favorite female character

Donna Noble from Doctor Who. She came on as a full-time companion exactly when we needed her. Ten had chased off the lovely Martha with all his whinging about Rose ("Rose would know what to do." WTF NO SHE WOULD NOT. WHAT THE HELL. SHUT UP.) and Donna stepped in to distract him with her awesomeness. Because she wasn't in love with him, she didn't put up with him talking down to her and would tell him off the instant he did it. ("Doctor, Time Lord, Yeah!" / "Donna, Human, No!" remains one of my all-time favorite scenes from the show.) She wasn't all sass though; the woman was filled to the brim with compassion and I remember people bitching about how often Donna cried. Which I kind of took offense too since I was usually crying along with her. Doctor Who makes me cry, what can I say? Donna Noble has left the library; Donna Noble has been saved.

Hitch just wrote on my Wall asking, "Hey you! When does the new season start?"

I just... I've completely failed my friend. Even though when April 5th rolled around, I wrote Doctor Who crap all over my Facebook. I think she was the only one among my friends who didn't know it premiered.

Oh well. If she comes over Saturday she can watch THREE episodes of David Tennant's ridonkulous hair and Catherine Tate's SUPERIOR RAD SKILLS.

This was the BEST Hiking Thursday EVER! Hitchcock and I walked downtown to the independent movie theater and saw Waitress.

It's a freaking adorable movie. If it's playing near you, go see it.

Oh my god, what a tv night! Drive and Heroes for the gorram WIN, yo. Blue Hands and Hitchcock are rocking a theory that Alex Tully is really just Malcolm Reynolds displaced in time. I'm inclined to believe it myself. ;) And one scene reminded me and Hippie of The Great Outdoor Fight and we kept making references to it throughout the episode. (If you don't get the joke, go read Achewood. Go. Go!) As for Heroes... whoa. Next week is going to rock so damn hard.

We reconvene in an hour and a half to watch Doctor Who on Hitch's laptop. Even though I've had the episode on my computer all day. Yet I haven't watched it out of loyalty. (Okay fine, I've watched the first five minutes. I'm not perfect, all right?!)

*sends special loves Nutmeg's way*

So I had a Drive viewing party in my room last night.

Drive Spoilers )

Then we watched Doctor Who. We got Hippie in by simply describing David Tennant's costume and his emo glasses and she was like, "I'M SOLD." I think she enjoyed it. At the end she said, "I'm not sure what just happened but I liked it." So this might have to become a weekly thing, gathering around Hitch's laptop for some Who. :D

A few days back, Hitchcock and I went with Hippie to the art annex where we played with clay. Hippie was working on her project for her ceramics class and Hitch and I had Doctor Who on the brain and created AWESOMENESS.

Since the CBC is through airing Doctor Who, it was only Heroes tonight.

Pffft. "Only" Heroes. My throat hurts from all the screaming and squeeing I did with Hitch.

Fangirl Night with Hitchcock is usually just Doctor Who. But tonight we added Heroes to the mix because of CHRISTOPHER ECCLESTON! I knew they'd pull a Marsters on Smallville and show him in the last five minutes, but luckily the episode was awesome. :)

Best moment? Waiting and waiting for Christopher Eccleston's name to pop up among the list of gust stars. And then having it show up. Both of us did this at the exact same time: \0/ "YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!"

I need to get a Christopher Eccleston icon now. *trots off to investigate*

"And he's still wearing his Converse. God, I love him."

- Hitch, watching tonight's Doctor Who

I did a cheer when I realized who the big enemy was going to be. A cheer. Because I remembered the enemy from the Second Doctor episode I watched. Being a fangirl dork is so much fun.
